Weight reducing tea
In addition to physical exercise and the diet, we can use other natural suplements to help us loose some weight. Today we will talk about weight reducing teas.
There are several herbs that can help us loosing weight. Between all, I prefer:
• Star anise: Facilitates fluid removal (a big part of the weight gain is due to fluid retention), the correct digestion of the food and the releasing of toxins.
• Mint: speeds up the digestion, helps burning calories and eases the hunger feeling. It also has a very refreshing taste, really nice in summer when it is so important to drink.
• Green Tea or Oolong tea: Green tea increases the metabolic rate, helping you burn more calories during the day. It has also antioxidant elements that help in fat burning. Oolong tea is more difficult to find and a bit more expensive than green tea but has stronger effects. It does no only help in burning fats, but also lowers cholesterol levels.
• Sage (Salvia officinalis): This plant has many properties. Besides of being an activator of the organism, it improves your digestive apparatus (facilitating the absorption of nutrients), regulates the excess of sweat and in women it helps with irregular menstruations and to ease menopause symptoms. In our case it helps with fluid retention and regulates blood sugars in diabetes.
Recipe for a cup of tea (If you want to make a liter, multiply by for the amount of herbs).
We put 2 or 3 star anise grains in a tea ball, half a teaspoon of dried leaves of sage or 2 or 3 fresh leaves, half a teaspoon of green tea or Oolong tea and half a teaspoon of dried mint leaves or 3 fresh leaves.
Then we add boiling water in the cup with the tea ball and we let it for 3 or 4 minutes, Now it is ready. You can add some honey to the tea to make it sweeter, but don’t add too much, remember you are loosing weight.
If you want to make a bigger amount, you can mix it in a saucepan when the water is boiling and then turn off the fire and let for 3 or 4 minutes. Then you pour it through a strainer.
You can also use other herbs such as rosemary, thyme, chamomile, etc. that will add more properties to the tea and a richer flavor. And if you want to improve it more, you can boil a date or a dried fig for about 5 to 10 minutes before turning off the fire and adding the herbs.
Play with the ingredients!!!
