Muscle stiffness

Muscle stiffness are small fractures inside muscle cells.

Muscle stiffness is not needed for a correct muscle development,on the contrary, if you have stiff muscles your training is not as hard as possible, and it can even be suspended for some days.
It comes from breaks in the muscular substructures of connective tissue, and from the Z lines, the junctions between muscle fiber sarcomers, connected in series.

Muscle stiffness appears when we do an excessively hard training, or unusual exercises.
To avoid this, we have to do the exercises progressively (in strength and number of repetitions) to get your body used to it.

How to avoid muscle stiffness:

  •  Gradual increase of the strength of the exercise if it is new or unusual.
  •  Don’t do intense exercise if your muscles have fatigue.
  •  Progressive increase of the strength of the exercise after resting periods.
  •  Perform stretching and relaxation running after intense exercise.
